Using an ultra-wide-angle lens can be challenging, but it is a great way to enhance the sense of depth in a two-dimensional photo.
Here I used a 14 mm manual focus lens positioned less than half a meter from the trunk, and a sequence of 18 shots with different focus distances, blended together in post production with focus stacking technique.
This is the result.
