This is the last dip with which the Grasia stream plunges into the Tagliamento River.
The waterfall is modest in size, but it is situated in a unique setting because of the conformation of the surrounding rocks, embellished by beech leaves that have fallen from the trees above.

Vestrahorn is one of the most striking and evocative places I have seen and “experienced” in Iceland, which has always been photographed in a thousand different ways.
I attempted a new photographic approach using the whitish patches of foam left by the waves on the black volcanic sand beach as the foreground.
I also used a long exposure to “blur” the clouds that caressed the mountains.

Here is a very classic view of the waterfall at the springs of Enna stream.
The considerable water flow prevented me from positioning myself inside the stream in order to try other shots.
The lush vegetation around the waterfall also prevented me from trying to photograph it from more original viewpoints.
However, I like the shot for its atmosphere.

Yet another photo from Hartland Quay, taken “on the fly” a few minutes after the previous one, just before the clouds magically vanished into a dull sky.

Hartland Quay is one of my favorite places.
I woke up before dawn to be there at sunrise, waiting for the tide to recede to show the flysch blades emerging from the seabed…and eating a bag of chips for breakfast…
The perfect “flysch and chips” english style.
I think it was worth it.

Here is the last blast from the past.
After a pleasant hike through Parco dell’Uccellina in Maremma (Tuscany), we ended up on Uccellina beach, where strong winds started to blow, pushing toward us heavy clouds of rain.
Barely able to hold the camera steady, I attempted this long exposure, which captures very well the mood of the moment.

Can’t tell why this photo has been forgotten for so long in my archives.
Now that I’ve found it, it has become one of my favourites: the power of pastel shades.

Another blast from the past.
Way back in 2012, wandering around Lewis Island in search of some interesting spots, we ended up pitching our tent near this delightful bay, not far from Mangersta Stacks.
These mossy boulders caught my attention, and a delightful sunset peeped out, so I set up my tripod and started taking pictures.
But as soon as the breeze died down an endless tide of midges targeted me forcing me to retreat to my tent, where I found myself with those little insects everywhere: in my eyes, in my nostrils, in my ears, and in my mouth.
The power of large numbers.
