Beech trees in a backlight so intense to cancel the burning autumn colors. But even in the resulting black and white effect the forest “burns” anyway, thanks to an intentional camera movement.

Another picture taken in my beloved Cansiglio wood. The use of a vertical camera movement allowed to mix autumn colors and convey the magic of the forest in this beautiful season.

Tired from the walk at Cansiglio Wood and discouraged by a bad light, I sat on a rock to eat something before returning home. And that’s when the grace of the “scars” on the trunk of a beech grabbed my attention. I intentionally over-exposed the photo in camera and then used a slight localized burning in post production to make them stand out against a suitable background.
